Adipurush | Adipurush downward slide continues, movie collects Rs 15 crore to cross Rs 400 crore mark
Despite grossing over Rs 400 crore globally, Om Raut’s “Adipurush” has been struggling at the box office due to negative feedback about its subpar dialogues and visual effects.
The film, distributed by T-Series, earned a total of Rs 410 crore in six days, according to a tweet by the studio on Thursday. “Adipurush” was released on June 16 in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil, and stars Prabhas as Raghav (Ram), Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Sita), and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Raavan).
The movie made a whopping Rs 340 crore in its opening weekend, despite having a budget of Rs 500 crore. This was followed by a significant decline as negative reviews spread on social media. The film earned Rs 15 crore on Wednesday, compared to Rs 35 crore on Monday and Rs 20 crore on Tuesday.
The film has been widely criticized on social media for its poor visual effects and colloquial dialogues, with dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla under fire for Lord Hanuman’s lines in the ‘Lanka Dahan’ scene, among others. “Adipurush” is currently being screened in theaters with revised dialogues.
