Broken Blade Of Strife Exotic Quest
Destiny 2 players are once again immersed in a mystery created by Bungie. This time, they have discovered the beginnings of a new Exotic quest that seems to be time-gated to Season of the Deep. The idea of time-gated content is not new to Destiny 2, and there have been numerous seasons with time-gated and exclusive content, including armor, missions, and Exotics.
Although not every step has been found for the potential Destiny 2 Exotic quest, the promise is stronger than ever. The requirements are open to players who are brave enough to embark on this quest in the hopes of receiving a rare prize at the finish line.
The first step of the quest requires players to venture to Savathun’s Throne World and fish in the Miasma Fish Pond. Players need to put aside their weapons against the Scorn and Lucent Hive and go fishing until they catch the Whispering Mothcarp fish. This is one of the Exotic fish in Destiny 2, and players need to catch it if they want to progress through the steps of this secret Exotic quest.
Fishing in Destiny 2 requires patience, but players can influence the RNG of the Fish Pond ever so slightly by not picking up the fish they catch immediately. Players should let their stacks of Legendary and Exotic fish build up until the next Fish Pond appears so that when they do pick up all their fish from the previous Fish Pond, the Focused Fishing will be enhanced. Each bar filled with Focused Fishing will enhance the odds of catching Legendary and Exotic fish.
Once players have caught the Whispering Mothcarp fish, they need to deposit it at the H.E.L.M. Players will then receive a random Exotic and the Broken Blade of Strife, a strange fragmented legendary item that will be used in the events to come. Players can only proceed with the Broken Blade of Strife, and any other fish they deposit will not progress the step.
For the next step, players need to head into a Deep Dives activity and reach the first Hive statue located in the underwater segment of the first area. Here, players can offer the broken blade, and doing so will light up the Hive Statue with an orange flame. Completing this step will place the Broken Blade of Strife into the Twilight Hive Statue of the Deep Dive activity. However, there remain two Hive Statues in the Midnight and Abyss sections, which cannot be used as of the first week.
It is still unclear what the next steps of the Exotic quest will be, but with each Destiny 2 weekly reset, another step will unfold. The potential reward could be the Exotic Scout Rifle that remains unknown in the collection of players’ Exotics. This guide will update as more information comes to light.
Destiny 2 players always find themselves within a mystery of Bungie’s creation. This time around, players have discovered what appears to be the beginnings of a new Destiny 2 Exotic quest, which appears time-gated to Season of the Deep. The idea of time-gated content is no stranger to Destiny 2and there have been plenty of seasons with time-gated and exclusive content, including armor, missions, and more importantly, Exotics.
Although not every step has been discovered for the potential Exotic quest in Destiny 2the promise is looking stronger than ever, and the requirements are open to the players that are brave enough to embark on this unfolding mystery, in the hopes of receiving a rare prize at the finish line.
Step 1: Fishing In The Throne World
For the first step of the quest, players will need to venture to Savathun’s Throne World. There is a secret objective that lies within the Miasma Fish Pond, where players need to put aside their weapons against the Scorn and Lucent Hive to go fishing until they have gotten lucky and recovered the Whispering Mothcarp fish.
The Whispering Mothcarp is one of the Exotic fish in Destiny 2and players will need to catch this great bounty if they are going to progress through the steps of this secret Destiny 2 Exotic quest. Considering the catch rate for Exotic fish is completely RNG based, some players might wait a while, but it’s vitally important that players just stick to it, and keep trying to use their Bait and luck to find a Whispering Mothcarp in Savathun’s Throne World.
The only real trick to fishing in Destiny 2 is patience. However, players can influence the RNG of the Fish Pond ever so slightly by not picking up the fish they catch immediately.
Step 2: Deposit At The H.E.L.M.
After obtaining the Whispering Mothcarp fish (for however long that may take), players will then need to put aside their fishing rod and venture through their destinations tab to enter the H.E.L.M. By the Sonar Station, players will find their Aquarium, where they will be able to deposit their fish like motes in Gambit.
After releasing the Exotic fish into the deposit box, players will receive a random Exotic, along with the most important item to progress through the quest. Players will receive Broken Blade of Strifea strange fragmented legendary item that will be used in the events to come. Depositing any other fish than the Whispering Mothcarp will not progress the step, as players can only proceed with the Broken Blade of Strife. Other Exotic fish, or even any fish in Destiny 2will not count as progress.
Step 3: Deep Dive Hive Statue Location
For the next step of the Destiny 2 Exotic quest, players will need to head into a Deep Dives activity. This can be done solo, with a Fireteam, or with three random players. Players do not need to complete the Deep Dive activity to save their progress, but they will need to reach the first Hive statue located in the underwater segment of the first area.
Players should progress as normal, dropping down the hatch after receiving Asha’s Gift, and then opening the door to further descend into the Methane Sea of Titan. Players will want to head right as they come to the cluster of yellow coral, and right again, dropping down to find the first Hive Statue in the Deep Dives activity.
Here, players can offer the broken blade, and doing so will light up the Hive Statue with an orange flame. A small written text will appear saying “A bladed offering, accepted…” indicating that the story has not yet unfolded. Meanwhile, Xivu Arath will shout: “LET SPILL INTO THE SEAS OF TITAN, UNTIL THE TIDES RETREAT AT MY NAME.”
With the third step complete, players have successfully placed the Broken Blade of Strife into the Twilight Hive Statue of the Deep Dive activity. However, there remain 2 Hive Statues in the Midnight and Abyss sections, which cannot be used as of the first week.
Step 4: Unknown
It is still unclear as to what the next steps of the Exotic quest will be, but it is safe to say that with each Destiny 2 weekly reset, another step will unfold. There is currently two Exotic fish yet to be released into Destiny 2as well as two Hive statues within the Deep Dive activity that has yet to be used and consumed with a broken blade.
It is safe to assume that players will be waiting just two more weeks to find the conclusion to the mysterious Destiny 2 quest and the potential reward could well be the Exotic Scout Rifle that remains unknown in the collection of players’ Exotics.
This guide will update as more information comes to light.
