Howie Mandel pokes fun at Sofía Vergara’s divorce on ‘AGT’
Howie Mandel has taken on the role of Cupid on “America’s Got Talent.” During Tuesday night’s show, the judge playfully highlighted his co-star Sofía Vergara’s single status. After ventriloquist Brynn Cummings’ puppet Lovebird flirted with Heidi Klum, Mandel offered some advice to the young contestant. The 67-year-old “Deal or No Deal” alum suggested, “If you’re looking for eligible bachelors, you should’ve talked to Sofía because she’s currently available.” Vergara, who is going through a divorce with Joe Manganiello, laughed and cheered at Mandel’s comment. However, Terry Crews, the 55-year-old host, expressed his disapproval on stage, stating, “No, we are not doing that.” Klum thanked Cummings for choosing her for the act and humorously acknowledged their great performance.
Since the news broke last month about Vergara’s split from her husband of seven years, many have shown their support for her single life. Julie Bowen, a former co-star, shared with E! News on Monday, “I have no doubt that if she wishes to be in a relationship, she will be.” Mandel informed a contestant that his fellow judge is “in the market” for “eligible bachelors.” Vergara laughed off the joke, but clarified that she doesn’t necessarily need a man in her life. Bowen expressed her desire to have a girls’ night out of dancing with Vergara and their friends in the near future.
In the past, the “ER” alum made headlines when she praised Vergara’s attractive bikini photos on Instagram, commenting, “This is what single and [hot] looks like.” The “Modern Family” star is currently going through a divorce with Joe Manganiello after seven years of marriage. Although Vergara has not publicly addressed the breakup, she and Manganiello released a joint statement to TheFantasyTimes in July, stating, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.” Vergara and the “Magic Mike” actor began dating in 2014 and got engaged after only six months. They tied the knot in November of the following year.

The “Deal or No Deal” alum, 67, said, “If you’re looking for eligible bachelors, you should’ve talked to Sofía because she’s in the market right now.”
The “Modern Family” alum, who is divorcing Joe Manganiello, laughed and cheered over Mandel’s quip — but Terry Crews was not a fan.
“No, we are not doing that,” the 55-year-old host said onstage.
As for Klum, she thanked Cummings for choosing her for the act and joked that they both “did a fantastic job.”
Since news broke last month that Vergara, 51, is splitting from her husband of seven years, many have showed support for her single life.
“I have no doubt that if she wishes to be in a relationship, she will be,” Julie Bowen told E! News of her former co-star on Monday.
However, she clarified that the Golden Globe nominee sure don’t need” a man in her life.
Bowen added that she would “very much” like to go out for a girls’ night of dancing with Vergara and her pals sometime soon.
