Ne-Yo and Nick Cannon share more than just their music careers.
The 43-year-old “Miss Independent” singer recently posted a rare photo of his seven children on Instagram, catching up to the 12 children of the “Masked Singer” host.
Fans couldn’t help but comment on Ne-Yo’s expanding family. One fan jokingly said, “He’s got 7 kids, Lord! He was hiding them close to Nick Cannon.” Another fan added, “I didn’t realize Ne-Yo had that many children. He’s trying to catch up with Eddie Murphy, Nick Cannon, and Diddy.”
Ne-Yo and Nick Cannon have more in common than just being musicians.
The “Miss Independent” singer, 43, shared a rare pic of his seven kids on Instagram Friday — and fans couldn’t help but notice how close he was to catching up to the “Masked Singer” host, who is a dad of 12.
“He got 7 kids Lord what he was hidden (sic) them 🤣🤣🤣close to nick kannan (sic) 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” wrote one fan.
“I didn’t realize Neyo had that many children. He trying to catch up with Eddie Murphy & Nick Cannon with Diddy creeping up as well….😁,” added another.
“Soon he’s going to Tye (sic) with Nick cannon with multiple kids, from different women, creating single parent households,” commented a third person.
“You catching up [to] Nick Cannon,” wrote a fourth user, while another quipped that Ne-Yo needed “five to go” in order to “catch up with the “Drumline” actor.
The three-time Grammy winner shares daughter Madilyn, 12, and son Mason, 11, with ex-fiancée Monyetta Shaw.
He is also dad to children — Shaffer Chimere Jr., 7, Roman Alexander-Raj, 5, and Isabella Rose, 2 — with ex-wife Crystal Renay.

Last July, Renay accused Ne-Yo of cheating on her with “numerous” women over the course of their nearly decade-long relationship. When she filed for divorce, she alleged that the songwriter had fathered a child with another woman.
Two months after Ne-Yo and Renay finalized their divorce in February 2023, the “So Sick: singer sought parental rights for Braiden, who was born in 2021, and Brixton, who arrived in February, with his then-girlfriend Sadé Jenea.
Cannon, on the other hand, has been very busy creating his own large brood.
The “Wild ‘N Out” host, 42, welcomed twins Monroe and Moroccan, now 12, with ex-wife Mariah Carey in 2011.
He then went on to add another ten kids with five other women: sons Golden, 6, and Rise, 9 months, and daughter Powerful, 2, with ex Brittany Bell; twin boys Zion and Zillion, both 2, and daughter Beautiful, 7 months, with Abby De La Rosa; son Legendary, 1, with “Selling Sunset” star Bre Tiesi; daughter Onyx, 9 months, with LaNisha Cole; and daughter Halo, 6 months, with Alyssa Scott.
The Nickelodeon alum and Scott also shared son Zen, who sadly passed away from brain cancer in December 2021. He was just 5 months old.
