Singham Fame Veteran Actor Jayant Savarkar Passes Away at 88 —
Jayant Sawarkar, born on May 3, 1936, in Guhagar, commenced his career as a novice artist in 1955 before delving into the realms of Marathi theater and cinema. Over five decades, he showcased his talent in more than a hundred stage productions and fifty films.
Additionally, Jayant Sawarkar graced numerous Hindi films, including Rohit Shetty’s Singham, among other notable works. The government of Maharashtra acknowledged his significant contributions to the theater industry by presenting him with the esteemed Natwarya Prabhakar Panshikar lifetime achievement award. Veteran actor Jayant Sawarkar, known for his works on the Marathi stage, in movies, and in Bollywood, passed away today. He was hospitalised due to a prolonged illness and took his last breath on the Hospital bed on Monday morning.
Jayant Sawarkar was born on May 3, 1936, in Guhagar. He started working as a junior artist in 1955 and then joined the Marathi stage and movie worlds. He acted in over 100 stage plays and 50 movies in the span of five decades.
