‘Bachelor’ alum Ashley Iaconetti felt ‘gender disappointment’ with son Dawson

Ashley Iaconetti expressed her disappointment when she discovered that she and her husband, Jared Haibon, were expecting a baby boy. During a recent episode of “The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast,” the 35-year-old “Bachelor” alum admitted that she had experienced gender disappointment with her first child, Dawson, even though she had a feeling that she was pregnant with a son. However, Iaconetti and Haibon, 34, welcomed their first child together, a boy, in January 2022.

Despite her initial reservations about being a boy mom, Iaconetti now claims that she doesn’t care as much about the gender of their future children. She explained that she would be happy if they had another son because she wants them to have a strong brotherly bond. She also revealed that she and Haibon will start trying for baby number two very soon.

This is not the first time Iaconetti has expressed her thoughts on gender. In February 2019, she told Us Weekly that she wanted a boy to have another brother or a girl to have a sister. However, she also mentioned that she needs to have a girl.

Back then, Haibon stated that they planned to have kids in 2020 or 2021, possibly even sooner. The couple, who met on Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2015, announced their pregnancy in July 2021 after trying to conceive for six months.

Iaconetti and Haibon tied the knot in August 2019 in Rhode Island, the actor’s home state.

Ashley Iaconetti was not thrilled when she learned that she and her husband, Jared Haibon, were having a baby boy.

“I had such gender disappointment with Dawson,” the “Bachelor” alum, 35, admitted on a recent episode of “The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast” — even though she “had a feeling” she was pregnant with a son.

Iaconetti and Haibon, 34, welcomed their first child together in January 2022.

Despite her initial feelings about being a boy mom, Iaconetti claims she “doesn’t care as much” about whether they have another son down the line.

“I’d be happy if we had a boy, too, because then I’d want them to have that, hopefully, brother bond,” she explained, adding that she and Haibon will start trying “very soon” for baby No. 2.
