Bombay High Court Judge Slams Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty’s Singham —
Bombay High Court Judge Criticizes Singham
Singham, featuring Ajay Devgn, has been a highly acclaimed police film in the Indian film industry for more than ten years. Rohit Shetty’s directorial approach has appealed to the masses with its portrayal of police officers, but it seems that the judge of the Bombay High Court holds a different perspective.
Recently, at a gathering organized by the Indian Police Foundation to commemorate its annual day and Police Reforms Day, Justice Gautam Patel criticized Ajay and Rohit’s Singham and its depiction of law enforcement officials.
Gautam Patel, the esteemed judge of the Bombay High Court, expressed, “In movies, the police often criticize judges who are portrayed as meek, timid, bespectacled, and poorly dressed.”
“They accuse the courts of allowing the guilty to escape punishment. The hero cop single-handedly brings justice,” he added.
Patel further questioned, “The film particularly showcases a climax scene where the entire police force confronts a politician played by Prakash Raj… and suggests that justice has been served. But I ask, has it truly been served?” and “How dangerous is this message?”
