Claim To Fame Season 2 Episode 1: Prediction & Clues (Spoilers)

Claim to Fame season 2 is a reality competition series that features 12 A-list celebrity relatives who are competing for a $100,000 prize while hiding their true identities from each other. The series is hosted by Kevin and Franklin Jonas and premiered last year to great acclaim. The winner of the first season was Loreal Chanel Palmer, sister of Keke Palmer, while Logan Crosby, cousin of Jason Aldean, was the runner-up. Pepper Martin, granddaughter of Dean Martin, finished in third place.

In the first episode of Claim to Fame season 2, the contestants introduced themselves through a game of Two Truths and a Lie, sharing two facts and one false statement about themselves. They also participated in a talent show to showcase their talents and personalities. The Clue Wall, which is filled with objects that could hint at the identities of the 12 celebrity relatives, also made a return.

Carly, a contestant on the show, revealed that her celebrity relative was her uncle, who is a musician and an Oscar winner. Carly also performed an original song during the talent show and mentioned that her relative has been on TV, Broadway, and in magazines. Chris, another contestant, shared that his celebrity relative has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and that singing is their main talent. Jane revealed that her celebrity relative is her father, who is a musician and Grammy winner.

Gabriel, on the other hand, lied about his celebrity relative being an athlete during the Two Truths and a Lie segment. He posed like the Heisman Trophy, which is a college football award, and said that his relative has won an NAACP Award. Hugo claimed that his celebrity relative is his grandfather, who was the most powerful man in the world at one point. Karsyn said that her celebrity relative is best known for being a musician, while Mona lied about her celebrity relative being an athlete who won an Emmy.

Olivia revealed that her celebrity relative is male, and his greatest award is a Razzie, which is a “Worst Of” Award. Shayne claimed that her celebrity relative is her father, who is a musician and Grammy winner, but one of these statements is a lie. Travis, the final contestant, did not reveal much about his celebrity relative.

In the end, Carly was eliminated, and it was revealed that she is Tom Hanks’ niece. The clues on the Clue Wall hinted at this, but Carly deflected when Tom Hanks’ name was mentioned. Chris noticed this and correctly guessed that Carly was related to Tom. Overall, Claim to Fame season 2 promises to be just as exciting and full of surprises as the first season.

12 Carly

During the Claim to Fame episode 1 of the Two Truths and a Lie segment, Carly revealed that her celebrity relative was her uncle, who’s a musician and Oscar winner. In her confessional, she admitted that he’s one of the biggest actors in Hollywood, who has had a long career since the 1980s. When the contestants first viewed the Clue Wall, Carly was worried because there was a model of a bench that looked exactly like the one from Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks’ name was mentioned by the contestants as they viewed the wall.

During the talent show, Carly went all out and sang, rapped, and danced to an original song she wrote. In the lyrics, she mentioned that her celebrity relative has been on TV, on Broadway, and in magazines. She said to look at her and her talent because “it’s a hint for free.” At the end of the performance, she even twerked. Chris said that Carly reminded him of Jim Carrey. Gabriel thought her relative was completely fearless like her. J.R. predicted Carly’s relative might be a comedian because she’s funny.

Later in the episode, Chris said in his confessional that he noticed Carly deflected when Tom Hanks was brought up. Carly told him that Tom would be too big and easy of a guess. Chris then told the camera, “Tom Hanks may be too famous for this house, but his celebrity relative isn’t.” Hugo also noticed Carly’s reaction to Tom’s name. Because of this, when he was chosen to be the guesser, Hugo correctly guessed that she was related to Tom. Carly was revealed to be Tom Hanks’ niece. She was upset she was eliminated and screamed that her clues were too obvious.

Jane said that Chris’ eyes looked like John Mayer’s, and Monay agreed.

In Gabriel’s confessional, he said he lied about his celebrity relative being an athlete. During the talent show, before Gabriel rapped, he told the cameras that he was excited to perform because he hadn’t in years.

8 Hugo

Hugo’s Two Truths and a Lie were that his celebrity relative is his grandfather, an athlete who won a Nobel Prize. In his confessional, he admitted that he lied about him being an athlete. He shared that, at one point, his grandfather was the most powerful man in the world. This most likely means that Hugo is the grandson of a former President of the United States. Hugo described himself as being very smart. He’s an engineer, studying both electro-engineering and math.

For Hugo’s talent, he wanted to continue his strategy of making himself look more athletic, so people would believe that his grandfather is an athlete. Therefore, he lifted weights. However, Carly immediately said to the others, “He’s not an athlete.” Carly and Chris thought that maybe Hugo was related to Buzz Aldrin because there was an astronaut clue and a bee for Buzz. They also thought the Nobel Prize clue might relate to Buzz.

However, during the talent show, when J.R. attempted to showcase some basketball skills, he didn’t make any of the shots he took. He fell and tore ligaments in his foot. The puzzle clue could be deciphered as King, Coming to America, and played Buckwheat. These clues point to actor and comedian Eddie Murphy.

1 Travis

Travis claimed that his celebrity relative is his father, an actor who has won a Critics’ Choice Award. During the Claim to Fame talent show, he dressed as a chef and recited the first 100 digits of pi. At the end of his presentation, he said, “And that, my friends, is a proper pizza pie.” He then unveiled a pizza with the number pi written in pepperoni. Travis confessed that his talent would put him in the “nerd category” and was a big risk because of who his father is. However, he wanted to stand out in order to win immunity, and he achieved that goal.

Hugo guessed that Travis was a scientist, engineer, or mathematician because he had “that kind of vibe.” Jane said in her confessional she was 100 % certain of his identity because he spoke in the same cadence as his celebrity relative and recited pi. She said that he wasn’t even a little subtle. Shayne and Monay later told Olivia and Gabriel they thought Travis was astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson’s son. Shayne said there were a lot of space clues on the Clue Wall, including an astronaut, moon, and a space-themed bowtie. She added that Travis looks like Neil.

Claim to Fame is off to an exciting start. As the episodes continue, the clues will keep coming. It’ll be interesting and fun to see who these contestants are related to. The pieces are sure to come together as Claim to Fame season 2 continues.

Claim to Fame airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
