Before Junpei can act, Yuji arrives and stops him, leading to a confrontation between Yuji and Mahito. During the battle, Junpei is ultimately transfigured by Mahito, which infuriates Yuji. Backed up by Nanami, Yuji is able to almost kill Mahito, but he escapes at the last moment. However, the burden of not being able to save Junpei and his brother starts killing Yuji from deep inside.
A Battle With Hanami
The Kyoto Kyoto Goodwill Event finally starts, and Gojo surprises everyone by revealing that Yuji is still alive. Kyoto Team receives orders to kill Yuji from Gokuganji, while Aoi refuses to take part in their plan. The friendly battle begins, with Aoi confronting Yuji. Yuji’s moves impress Aoi, and they start building a strong connection during the fight.
Meanwhile, other members of the Kyoto Team try to take down Yuji, but Aoi stands against his own mates, aware of their deadly plan. Their continuous battle develops a teacher and student bond, with Aoi imparting knowledge and helping Yuji become a better Sorcerer. The appearance of Hanami, a formidable Curse, disrupts the event. This becomes an even greater opportunity for the two friends to strengthen their bond, and the battle finally concludes with Hanami’s death at the hands of Gojo. But Mahito still manages to escape with stolen Sukuna fingers and Cursed Objects.

Here we also meet Megumi’s sister, Tsumikifor the first time. During the investigation, they come across a mole-like Curse, and Megumi, while battling the powerful Curse, breaks through his limitations and manifests his own Domain Expansion for the first time. Megumi then battles against Finger Bearer, and despite the Curse’s high potential, Megumi defeats it.
In the meantime, Nobara and Yuji encounter the Death Paintings; Eso and Kechizu, and the former take Nobara hostage. But with the combined efforts of Yuji and Nobara, they defeat the opponents. However, defeating the Death Painting is different than defeating Curses, as they are half human and half curses, making it regrettable for Yuji and Nobara to kill them.
Here we get the introduction of Choso, who discovers that Yuji and Nobara were responsible for the death of his brothers, Eso and Kechizu, which he also reveals to Mahito and Geto. Gojo is impressed by the success of his students, after which they are recommended for an upper rank.
