Kim Kardashian underwent a stunning transformation for her role in the latest season of “American Horror Story.”
The famous “Kardashians” star appeared completely different in the first teaser for Season 12 of the eerie series, which was released on Thursday.
In the 40-second clip, the 42-year-old is seen wearing a long white wig, dressed in a black gown, and cradling a baby while a haunting rendition of “Rock-A-Bye Baby” plays in the background.
Her normally tan skin has been painted white, creating a striking contrast with her bold red lipstick and dramatic false eyelashes.
Co-stars Emma Roberts and Cara Delevingne also sport similar looks, wearing the same white wig, while faceless figures dance in circles around them.
The new season of the anthology series, titled “Delicate,” is based on Danielle Valentine’s novel “Delicate Condition,” which follows a woman who believes someone is trying to prevent her from having a child.
While the trailer excited many fans, the news of Kardashian’s involvement in the series received mixed reactions earlier this year.
Co-creator Ryan Murphy described the Skims founder as one of the “biggest and brightest television stars in the world,” but other actors, including Patti LuPone, were less impressed with the decision to cast a non-actor.
The legendary Broadway star Patti LuPone expressed her disapproval of Kardashian’s casting during an interview on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in April.
LuPone, who had previously appeared in “AHS,” stated that she didn’t agree with the casting choice because it took the opportunity away from other deserving actors.
“Excuse me, excuse me, Kim. What are you doing with your life? Don’t get on the stage, Mrs. Worthington,” LuPone said, referencing the English playwright and composer Noël Coward’s 1935 song “Mrs. Worthington” about overzealous momagers.
However, Kardashian took the criticism to heart and began taking acting lessons to prepare for the role.
