Silly Overwatch 2 Clip Highlights Two Fails at Once

A comical Overwatch 2 clip has recently gone viral on social media, showcasing several consecutive fails during a casual match on Ilios. The clip features a Lifeweaver misplay, which occurred just weeks after Blizzard made significant changes to the hero in an attempt to make him more viable across all the game’s modes.

Lifeweaver is the latest addition to the 37-strong character roster of Overwatch 2. This support hero can spawn platforms and pull allies towards him. Despite receiving two major buffs, Lifeweaver has seen little play, and is mostly known for ruining Overwatch 2 plays with hilarious results.

The latest clip comes from Reddit user Healsg00dMan, who experienced a less-than-optimal Lifeweaver play during a control match on Ilios. The video starts with the player’s Cassidy being pulled by an allied Lifeweaver in an attempt to help him line up a shot on a nearby Roadhog. However, the move sent the player diving into their death, and the opposing Roadhog enthusiastically jumps out of bounds in an apparent effort to use his Chain Hook on the already-doomed Cassidy and die in the process.

To add to the humor, the Cassidy player who recorded the clip even got targeted by a nearby Ana’s Overwatch 2 Nano Boost for a completely pointless Ultimate buff just as they were plummeting to their death. The consecutive misplays sent the clip to the front page of the Overwatch subReddit on June 24, with numerous fans labelling the mishaps as “peak” Overwatch 2 gameplay.

While Lifeweaver is a recent addition to Blizzard’s game, there is still hope for him to eventually find his way into the game’s competitive meta. However, many players currently find him to be fairly gimmicky, and additional buffs may be required to make him viable. Blizzard seems to be aware of this issue, with one of its developers recently revealing that Lifeweaver could receive a significant rework in Overwatch 2 Season 5.

Overwatch 2 is available on various platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

A silly Overwatch 2 clip highlighting several consecutive fails starting with a Lifeweaver misplay during a casual match on Ilios went viral on social media earlier this month. The video emerged online mere weeks after Blizzard made significant changes to Overwatch 2’s Lifeweaver in a bid to make the hero more viable across all the game’s modes.

Lifeweaver is the latest addition to the 37-strong character roster of Overwatch 2. Capable of spawning platforms and pulling allies, this support hero was originally released at the beginning of the game’s Season 4, which started on April 11. Yet, the character has so far seen fairly little play, even after Blizzard treated him to two major buffs. Some ten weeks into his release, the fandom mostly knows Lifeweaver as the hero who tends to ruin Overwatch 2 plays with hilarious results.

The latest development that will undoubtedly add to that reputation comes in the form of an Overwatch 2 gameplay clip from Reddit user Healsg00dMan, who recently ended up at the receiving end of a less-than-optimal Lifeweaver play during a control match on Ilios. The footage starts with the player’s Cassidy being pulled by an allied Lifeweaver in order to help him line up a shot on a nearby Roadhog. But even though it’s immediately clear that the move sent the player diving into their death, the opposing Roadhog enthusiastically jumps out of bounds in an apparent effort to use his Chain Hook on the already doomed Cassidy and die in the process.

As if these two fails weren’t humorous enough on their own, the Cassidy player who recorded the clip even got targeted by a nearby Ana’s Overwatch 2 Nano Boost for a completely pointless Ultimate buff just as they were plummeting to their death. The combined hilarity of these consecutive misplays sent the clip to the front page of the Overwatch subReddit on June 24, with numerous fans reacting to the video labeling its mishaps as “peak” Overwatch 2 gameplay.

Since Lifeweaver is a fairly recent addition to Blizzard’s hit shooter, there’s still hope for him to eventually find his way into the game’s competitive meta. But seeing how many players currently find him to be fairly gimmicky, that’s unlikely to happen without additional buffs. Blizzard seems to be acutely aware of this issue, with one of its developers recently revealing that Lifeweaver could receive a significant rework in Overwatch 2 Season 5.

Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
