Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts 2

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is a movie that has left fans excited and eagerly awaiting its sequel. The film serves as a prequel to the Transformers franchise and sequel to Bumblebee, and is inspired by the Beast Wars storyline. It is set in 1994 Brooklyn and follows an archeologist and an ex-military electronics expert teaming up to help Optimus Prime and the Autobots in a battle to protect Earth from Unicron’s impending invasion. Directed by Steven Caple Jr., the film has left fans wondering about its sequel.

Caple Jr. has expressed his interest in returning to direct the sequel, but is not yet officially signed on. He wants to bring even more nostalgia into the next movie and hinted at the possibility of bringing back Megatron. The sequel has already been confirmed by Paramount, with plans for it to be the first chapter of a Beast Wars trilogy. While no title or plot details have been confirmed, the studio is working on a sequel, and another sequel to come after that.

The ending of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts also sets up a movie adaptation of the 1986 comics crossover G.I. Joe & The Transformers, which could potentially lead to a G.I. Joe and Transformers crossover movie. However, Caple Jr. wants to pay off the ending of Rise of the Beasts before exploring that possibility.

Although no release date has been confirmed for the sequel, it is likely to be a summer release based on the release schedule of previous Transformers films. The first three installments of Michael Bay’s Transformers series were released two years apart, while the fourth and fifth movies were released three years apart. If the new incarnation of the franchise maintains this momentum, then the sequel could arrive in either 2026 or 2027.

As fans eagerly anticipate the sequel, they can look forward to the upcoming CG-animated Transformers movie, Transformers One, directed by Toy Story 4’s Josh Cooley. Set entirely on Cybertron, the film will focus on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron, setting up their hero-villain dynamic from the live-action films. The film is set to be released theatrically on September 13, 2024.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Sequel Latest News

Mirage in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

The latest Rise of the Beasts 2 updates come from director Steven Caple Jr., who explained that he would love to return to the series to helm a sequel (via Deadline). Unfortunately, the news is bittersweet, as he revealed that he wasn’t officially signed on to the sequel. When asked directly if he was developing the sequel, Caple Jr. responded “I am not officially signed on to the next movie.” However, the pronouns the producers are using when they speak about the sequel give the director hope, as Caple Jr. added, “I set up a lot of things in this film and, you know… every time we talk about the future, there’s always a lot of ‘we.'”

Other Rise of the Beasts 2 updates indicates that Caple Jr. wants to bring even more nostalgia into the next movie. The director said he was only 19 when he watched Michael Bay’s first live-action Transformers movie and he just directed its seventh in the series. Not only did he bring fans a new Transformers movie, but he had a chance to bring the Maximals to the big screen as live-action heroes for the first time ever. He also had a big opportunity to bring Unicron to the big screen for the first time in all his glory.

For the sequel, Caple wants to bring more of what he couldn’t in this first of the new trilogy. He wanted more Predacons, but he only had so much he could do in Rise of the Beasts. “I can’t say the next thing because I might actually do it for the next movie,” he said after mentioning more Predacons (via Geek Culture). However, Caple also said he wanted to bring back Megatron to the movies as well. However, he hinted that Megatron is still in the “Bay-verse,” but he has a lot of dreams to bring more from the world of G1.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Sequel Confirmed

Optimus Prime in the woods in Transformers Rise of the Beasts

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2 was confirmed over a year before the film’s release date. In February 2022, Paramount+ tweeted that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be “the first of three new installments.Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is planned as the first chapter of a Beast Wars trilogy. While no title or plot details have been confirmed in Rise of the Beasts 2 updates, Paramount is working on a sequel, and another sequel to come after that. The only reason Paramount would end up calling off plans for the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sequel is if Transformers: Rise of the Beasts bombed at the box office.

The same tweet from Paramount+ also confirmed that a CG-animated Transformers movie was being produced to be released theatrically in 2024. This animated feature was later revealed to be titled Transformers One and the studio gave it a more solid release date of July 19, 2024, which was later pushed back to September 13, 2024 (via Collider). Transformers One will be directed by Toy Story 4’s Josh Cooley. Set entirely on Cybertron, Transformers One will focus on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron, setting up their hero-villain dynamic from the live-action films.

Will Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts’ G.I. Joe Crossover Be A New Movie?

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts‘ ending sets up a movie adaptation of the 1986 comics crossover G.I. Joe & The Transformerswhen Agent Burke (Michael Kelly) recruits Noah (Anthony Ramos) to join G.I. Joe’s efforts to fight a mysterious war. This could set up the events of Transformers 8, but that would arguably distract from the Beast Wars storyline that should carry through the newest Transformers trilogy. It’s also possible that Paramount and Hasbro plan a relaunch of the G.I. Joe franchise completely separately.

Rise of the Beasts 2 comes with the potential for building up to a G.I Joe and Transformers crossover movie — even if it’s not the next release — as a culmination of the newly established Hasbro Shared Universe. Mapping out a longer-term plan would make sense, and the G.I. Joe & The Transformers comic offers a map of the story, with the Joes and the Autobots fighting an alliance of the Decepticons and COBRA (who end up allying with the good guys when the evil Transformers betray them) for control of a nuclear power plant. Deadline reported that, along with wanting to return for Rise of the Beasts 2Caple Jr. wants to pay off the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts ending. When writing the 2023 movie, Caple Jr. didn’t even pitch the crossover to the studio, he just thought, “this’ll be crazy” and said, “let’s put it in the script.”

After those ideas were greenlit and the shared universe actually came to life in the Transformers movie, the filmmaker thinks the crossover is the only way forward. Caple Jr. didn’t detail exactly what he had in mind for Rise of the Beasts 2but he explained, “I think there is a way to still feed the fans what they want in Transformers films but also do something cool with another legendary IP, so to speak, that I’ve always been in love with.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Sequel Predicted Release Date

The animated feature Transformers One will be the next entry in the Transformers film series, and it’s scheduled for a theatrical release on September 13, 2024, but it’s not a direct sequel to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Although Paramount has confirmed that it is developing Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2no release date has been confirmed for the new movie. However, it’s possible to speculate about when the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sequel might arrive based on the release schedule of previous Transformers films.

Although Bumblebee was released in December 2018, every other Transformers movie has been released in June or July, so it’s likely that the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sequel will be a summer release. The release date for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was nearly five years after the last Transformers film, the spin-off Bumblebee. It’s unlikely the Rise of the Beasts 2 updates will take so long to arrive, since the delay to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts had to accommodate the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects on the film industry.

Paramount will likely want to strike while the iron is hot and won’t wait five years for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2 release date. The first three installments in Michael Bay’s initial Transformers series were released two years apart, while the fourth and fifth movies were released three years apart. If the new incarnation of the Transformers franchise maintains this momentum (which is something of a necessity in today’s moviegoing climate to keep audiences interested), then the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2 release date could arrive in either 2026 or 2027.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Sequel Cast

Anthony Ramos with a Transformer in Transformers Rise of the Beasts

Paramount hasn’t confirmed an official cast list for the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sequel, but it will likely feature a lot of characters who were introduced in the first movie, and the actors who played them. The Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2 cast will probably bring back human characters like Noah Diaz, played by Anthony Ramos, and Elena Wallace, played by Dominique Fishback. The human protagonists of the previous incarnations of the Transformers franchise – Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky and Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager – stuck around for a couple of movies, and there’s no reason to believe Noah and Elena won’t do the same.

Even if the human cast features different actors, the voice cast will probably see the return of many familiar voice artists as the titular robots in disguise. The sequel will likely bring back Peter Cullen, who’s been voicing Optimus Prime since the original 1980s animated Transformers series and also appears in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts cast. The producers will also probably want to keep their most famous voice actors from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts around for the sequel, like Pete Davidson and Ted Lasso’s Cristo Fernández as Autobots, Michelle Yeoh and Ron Perlman as Maximals, and Peter Dinklage as a Terrorcon.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Sequel Story Details

Optimus Primal in the woods in Transformers Rise of the Beasts

There are no Rise of the Beasts 2 updates concerning the plot synopsis, but it will likely continue the story set up in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2 story is being planned as the second part of a Beast Wars trilogy, and Unicron will likely being set up as the big bad for this three-part epic. The second chapter of the trilogy could well bring the characters from Bumblebee back into the fold – particularly Hailee Steinfeld’s Charlie Watson, who became a close friend of Bumblebee’s as she protected him from shady government agents.

Bumblebee takes place in the 1980s, while Transformers: Rise of the Beasts takes place in the 1990s. If these Transformers prequel movies are each tackling a different decade (much like the X-Men prequel movies), then Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2 could bring the story back to the 2000s, the decade where it all began with Bay’s original films. It might stay in the ‘90s to continue the Beast Wars storyline started in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts with Noah and Elena in the spotlight. Alternatively, it could go even further back into the 1960s or 1970s for another standalone story.
