Madonna to reschedule tour dates after medical emergency
The Queen of Pop is making plans for her highly anticipated return. Madonna has revealed that she will be rescheduling her “Celebration” tour dates, following her recent hospitalization due to a severe bacterial infection. Taking to Twitter on Friday, she expressed her gratitude for the incredible support and patience she has received during the past few weeks. She also announced that the revised tour schedule will be announced in the coming days, promising fans a well-deserved celebration.
Earlier this year, the iconic “Like a Virgin” singer had announced a worldwide tour to commemorate the 40th anniversary of her music career. The 35-city tour was set to begin on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada, before heading to various locations in North America, Europe, and concluding in December. Due to overwhelming demand, additional shows were added.
Unfortunately, before Madonna could take the stage, her tour had to be postponed due to her hospitalization for a serious bacterial infection. In June, TheFantasyTimes exclusively reported that she was rushed to a hospital in New York City and required intubation for at least one night. Her longtime manager, Guy Oseary, shared on Instagram that she had developed a severe bacterial infection, leading to a stay in the ICU. However, he assured fans that she was under medical care and expected to make a full recovery.
Sources revealed that Madonna had been diligently rehearsing for her tour for several weeks prior to her hospitalization. Despite the setback, she expressed her gratitude to her six children – Lourdes, Rocco, David, Mercy, and twins Stella and Estere – for their unwavering support during her health scare. She described their love as the best medicine and expressed how their presence and support made a significant difference.
As Madonna continues to recover, she has been seen attending various events. Most recently, she was spotted at Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” tour stop in New Jersey, accompanied by her daughters Stella, Estere, and Mercy.
