Why We Can’t Forget These Married At First Sight Season 13 Heroes & Villains

Married At First Sight season 13 proved to be a disappointment for viewers, as it seemed to have more villains than heroes. This dating experiment has always captivated audiences, showcasing the rawest emotions when it comes to love. While many hope for a fairytale ending, sometimes Cupid’s arrow misses its mark.

Compared to previous seasons, the Houston installment of Married At First Sight didn’t garner as much popularity. However, the cast formed strong bonds and have remained in touch over the years. The show, as usual, paired couples based on compatibility, but the matchmakers faced their toughest season yet. Out of the five pairings from Texas, only two couples chose to stay together on Decision Day. Unfortunately, all five newlyweds eventually decided to end their marriages shortly after the series concluded. Overall, season 13 of Married At First Sight felt draining, and the experts appeared burned out.

One of the show’s ultimate villains turned out to be Zack Freeman. Initially, Zack was a fan favorite due to his sad backstory. However, opinions changed when it was revealed that he had been involved in a cheating scandal. Throughout most of the season, Zack was enjoyable to support, as he didn’t display the usual macho and controlling behavior seen in other men. His calm demeanor made for compelling TV. However, things took a turn during his honeymoon with his match, Michaela Clarke, when Zack contracted COVID-19 and had to quarantine with his new wife. Michaela and Zack frequently clashed, but Zack managed to maintain his composure during their arguments. As the season progressed, Zack’s true colors as a player started to emerge, and he couldn’t hide that image for long. On Decision Day, it became evident that Zack had been gaslighting his wife when he asked for a divorce but then suggested they try dating outside the show. The couple ultimately ended their relationship, and Zack went on to date his co-star Bao Huong Hoang. While their pairing made it seem like they were both betraying Michaela, the relationship was accepted. However, Zack was later accused of cheating on Bao with multiple women, revealing his manipulative nature throughout the dating process.

Another dishonorable mention goes to Jose San Miguel Jr. and his partner Rachel Gordillo. Throughout Married At First Sight season 13, Jose developed a reputation for his explosive anger. He struggled to hide his jealousy, leading to frequent intense arguments with Rachel. Each disagreement escalated rapidly, and despite Rachel’s patience, she couldn’t handle Jose’s temper. One of Jose’s major red flags was when he locked Rachel out after she accidentally called him by her ex’s name. Although Rachel immediately apologized, the fight turned ugly. Rachel sought solace with Brittany, and Jose was seen rushing to lock the door behind her. He turned off the lights and ignored his wife’s pleas. Jose’s unapologetic attitude was the final straw for Rachel, as she admitted she no longer trusted him and couldn’t continue as his wife. Jose didn’t seem too heartbroken and has since focused on his work and friends.

Michaela Clark’s behavior also landed her in the villain territory. She often became emotional while expressing her opinions, which initially put off Married At First Sight viewers. Most sided with Zack, who remained calm under pressure. One of Michaela’s notable outbursts occurred during the couple’s retreat. She became angry with Zack for leaving in the middle of the night due to an argument about their future. In Zack’s absence, Michaela unleashed her anger on the cast, storming through the hotel, destroying furniture, and yelling at the camera crew. A producer even had to intervene and restrain her. It was considered one of the most frightening moments in Married At First Sight history.

On a more positive note, Myrla Feria and Gil Cuero emerged as the heroes of Married At First Sight season 13. Initially, Myrla wasn’t well-received, but as the season progressed, she became a fan favorite. Although their marriage ended, Myrla and Gil shared similar family values, which brought them together in the first place. They displayed mutual respect and had fewer outbursts compared to the other couples. They were able to discuss their financial issues maturely and reached a positive decision for both of them.

Lastly, Ryan Ignasiak and Brett Nicole deserve an honorable mention. While their relationship didn’t work out romantically, they built a strong friendship, which is commendable in the dating world.

In conclusion, Married At First Sight season 13 had its fair share of villains and heroes. The disappointments and drama kept viewers engaged, but ultimately, some couples couldn’t withstand the pressure. Despite the letdown, the show continues to captivate audiences with its unfiltered portrayal of love and relationships.

Married At First Sight season 13 was a bit of a let-down for viewers who felt there were more villains than heroes in the series. The dating experiment has always been popular as it often shows couples’ rawest emotions when it comes to love. While most are hoping for a happily ever after, there are times when Cupid’s arrow completely misses his target.

Was Zack Freeman The Show’s Ultimate Villain?

Ironically, Zack started the series’ as a fan favorite thanks to his sad storyline. However, opinions changed of Zack when it was discovered he was part of a cheating scandal. For almost the entirety of the season, Zack was fun to cheer on as he didn’t come across like the other men who try to act macho and controlling. Zack’s demeanor was cool as a cucumber which made for good TV.

However, things changed during his honeymoon with his wife, and MAFS match, Michaela Clarke, when Zack got COVID and was forced to quarantine with his new spouse. Michaela and Zack often fought, but Zack seemed to have more sense during the battles as he stayed calm. As the season went on, Zack started to come off as a player, and he could only hide that image for so long. It became apparent that Zack had been gaslighting his wife on Decision Day when he asked for a divorce but then questioned if they could try dating away from the show.

The couple eventually called it quits, with Zack then dating his co-star Bao Huong Hoang. While the matchup made it look like both were bad friends to Michaela, the relationship was accepted. However, not long after, Zack was accused of cheating on Bao with multiple women. It turned out Zack wasn’t as likable as some thought and, in the end, was calculating throughout the dating process.

Jose San Miguel Is A Dishonorable Mention

Jose San Miguel Jr. and his partner Rachel Gordillo had numerous highs and lows while on Married At First Sight season 13. Jose didn’t help himself as he developed a bad reputation for having explosive anger. The reality TV star also struggled to hide his jealousy which was hard to move past. Each argument with Rachel went from one to 100 very quickly, and even though Rachel came across as patient, she was no match for Jose’s temper.

One of Jose’s big red flags was when he decided it was a good idea to lock Rachel out. The catalyst for this action was after Rachel had called him by her ex’s name. The teacher immediately and genuinely apologized for the case of mistaken identity, but the fight turned ugly. As Rachel took a moment to speak with Brittany, Jose can be seen bolting for the door behind her. The mission flight specialist could be seen turning off the lights at 12:34 am and ignoring his wife’s knocks at 1:02 am.

Jose’s unapologetic attitude was the straw that broke the camel’s back as Rachel finally revealed she didn’t trust him and could no longer continue as his wife. Jose didn’t seem too broken-hearted and has since moved on and concentrated on work and his friends. While that was a bad move on Jose’s part, at least he wasn’t as bad as his costar, Zack.

Michaela Clark’s Antics Put Her In Villain Territory

Michaela was known to get emotional when trying to express her opinions, and at first, her attitude put Married At First Sight viewers off. Most would choose to side with Zack, who remained calm under the pressure. One of Michaela’s ongoing outbursts and knee-jerk reactions revolved around the couple’s retreat. Michaela had become angry with Zack for choosing to leave in the middle of the night because of their fight about their future.

With Zack gone, Michaela took all her anger out on the cast as she decided to storm through the hotel, destroying furniture and yelling at the camera crew. A producer even had to restrain her. It was considered one of the scariest moments in Married At First Sight history.

At first, Myrla Feria wasn’t that well received on Married At First Sight season 13, but after a few episodes, she became a fan favorite. Her marriage to Gil Cuero ended, but their shared views on family values were what put them together in the first place. Their mutual respect for one another shined through as they didn’t have as many outbursts as the other couples. They were able to discuss their money issues like adults and, in the end, came to a positive decision for both of them.

Ryan & Brett Are Honorable Mentions

Brett Nicole was a huge fan of Married At First Sightwhile Ryan Ignasiak hailed from a small town in Texas and was looking to settle down. Brett felt like she made a huge effort to connect with Ryan, but the match didn’t work. Even though they didn’t work out, Ryan and Brett built a longstanding friendship which in the dating world is a pretty heroic feat.
